Summer marine science camps

UGA’s Marine Extension Service offers “hands-on, feet-in” summer marine science camps for students aged 4–15 during June and July. The camps have offered a range of age- and academically-appropriate marine science and coastal ecology activities since 1992. All camps take place at the Marine Education Center and Aquarium on Skidaway Island, near Savannah. Although all camp sessions are day programs, affordable lodging and camping is available nearby.

Nine separate sessions include:

Fish Fry (ages 4–5) July 19–21

Sea Squirts (ages 6–7) July 11–15

Sea Camp (ages 8–10) June 6–11, June 13–17, June 27–July 1

Estuary Explorers (ages 11–12) June 20–24, July 25–29

Island Scientists (ages 13–15) July 18–22

The enrollment lottery for 2005 camps will take place April 1. The registration form and more information are available at www.uga.edu/aquarium. Contact Anne Lindsay Frick (lindsaya@uga.edu or 912‑598‑2355) with -questions.
