Swim lessons

The department of recreational sports is offering swimming classes for all ages and levels beginning Jan. 25. All classes meet at the Ramsey Student Center Recreation Pool.

The classes include: “Learn to Swim for Little Ones,” a class for parents and children ages 6 months-2 years, which meets from 3:15-3:45 p.m. Sundays. Cost is $15 for students and $20 for faculty and staff.

“Preschool Water Adjustment,” for children 18 months to 5 years and their parents, is geared for those who have two or more previous sessions of water adjustment lessons, submerge only reluctantly or not at all, or require flotation support at all times. It meets from 4-4:30 p.m. Sundays. Cost is $15 for students and $20 for faculty and staff.

“Beginner Lessons,” a class for those who are uncomfortable going underwater or have taught themselves how to swim, meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:15-6:45 p.m. The registration fee is $30 for students, $40 for faculty and staff, and $50 for alumni.

“Intermediate Lessons,” meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:15-6:45 p.m. The registration fee is $30 for students, $40 for faculty and staff, and $50 for alumni.

“Stroke Analysis,” which focuses on forming more efficient strokes, refining stroke technique and learning lasting training techniques to incorporate into workouts, meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:15-6:45 p.m. The registration fee is $30 for students, $40 for faculty and staff, and $50 for alumni.

“Learn to Swim for Youth,” for children 5 years and older, meets Sundays from 3:15-4:30 p.m. The registration fee is $15 for students, and $20 for faculty and staff.
