Ten new kiosks to be installed for wireless printing

Enterprise Information Technology Services is installing 10 print kiosks that will allow users to send documents from their computers, mobile devices or a USB flash drive to an Internet-based storage location for later retrieval and printing.

Scheduled to be installed by Nov. 26, the kiosks from Wireless Everywhere Print Anywhere will be located on the main and Health Sciences campuses. Documents sent to the WEPA (pronounced “wee-pah”) service will be available to print for 96 hours.

To pay for the printed documents, students may use Bulldog Bucks, a credit or debit card or funds deposited into a WEPA account. Faculty and staff with a valid UGA ID can set up a WEPA account or pay for printing with a credit or debit card; visitors and others can pay with a credit or debit card.

The cost will be 6 cents per page for black-and-white prints, and 50 cents per page for color prints. A 20 cent surcharge will apply for each transaction paid with a credit or debit card. The additional surcharge will be waived if the credit or debit card is used to deposit $5 onto a WEPA account used for further printing charges.

WEPA representatives will be available Nov. 26-28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Miller Learning Center and the Joe Frank Harris Dinning Commons for print kiosk demonstrations and user assistance. The print kiosks are funded by student technology fees.
