A town hall meeting entitled “Start the Drought! Dry Up Underage Drinking” will take place from 6:30–8 p.m. April 2 in the Empire Room of the Classic Center.
The meeting is hosted by Safe Campuses Now, an Athens-based nonprofit organization whose mission is crime awareness, education and prevention.
Part of a national effort, the meeting will feature panelists who will address underage drinking. Speakers—including Mark Richt, head football coach—will present varying perspectives on how underage drinking impacts the community. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and sign up to get involved in community efforts.
The event is open to the public, but pre-registration, available online at www.athensconnection.org, is required.
