Media Advisory: Update of UGA 50th anniversary events

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia is observing the 50th anniversary of its desegregation this week. However, due to inclement weather, there have been some changes in today’s schedule of events. The legal panel discussion, originally scheduled for 5 p.m., has been cancelled. The anniversary lecture, to be delivered by Charlayne Hunter-Gault, remains scheduled for 3 p.m. The lecture will be broadcast live on University and Charter cable channel 15 in Athens. It will not be streamed live, as originally planned, but video will be posted later on the University of Georgia website (www.uga.edu).

For updates on the schedule of events for the remainder of the week, see www.uga.edu. Information also is being shared on Facebook and Twitter.
