UGA College of Pharmacy names Budd employee of the year

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy recently honored Virginia “Sis” Budd as the 2010 Employee of the Year at its annual staff appreciation luncheon. Budd joined the college staff in 2004 and currently serves as a program coordinator in the college’s Division of Outreach and Nontraditional Education. In that capacity she helps plan and implement continuing education programs, both on and off campus, for the state’s pharmacists.

Budd coordinates the Southeastern Residency Conference which hosts more than 600 participants annually. Additionally she helps coordinate access to a three-hour continuing education program on emergency preparedness that is required for all pharmacists. Through live programs, online programs and DVDs, more than 6,500 pharmacists met their emergency preparedness requirements in a nine-month period.

Also recognized for length of service, as of July 2010, were Sheila Roberson, 25 years; Joy Wilson, Mary Eubanks, Becky Glosson, 20 years; John Anderson, 15 years; Susan Smith, 10 years; and Beverly Martin, Russell Palmer, Helena Smith, Robyn Ansley, 5 years.
