UGA Observatory sets open houses for spring semester

UGA Observatory sets open houses for spring semester

 

Athens, Ga. – Spring semester open houses for the UGA Observatory atop the Physics and Astronomy Building have been announced.

The observatory will be open for public viewing on Friday, Feb. 12, at 8 p.m.; Friday, March 19 at 9 p.m.; and Friday, April 9, at 9:30 p.m. The observatory usually stays open on those evenings for 60 to 90 minutes.

In case of clouds for the Feb. 12 open house, Prof. Scott Shaw will give a talk called “The Brightest and Furthest: GRB090423.”
