Carl Glickman

Name: Carl Glickman

Position: Professor Emeritus of Education, former University Professor and past chair of the College of Education. Glickman is also involved in the Program for School Improvement and the Georgia League of Professional Schools and is the author of 16 books on education, democracy and moral leadership.

Years at UGA: 22 years at UGA and in retirement continues to teach seminars

Beneficiary of his gift to the university: WUGA-FM Fund, Mary Frances Early College of Education Endowment, PAC Arts Education Partners Fund, Willson Center for Humanities and Arts General Fund and the College of Education Fund for Excellence

Why he gives: “My wife and I donate in appreciation for all the support given to me throughout my career to programs that both strengthen the education mission of Mary Frances Early College of Education and UGA and serve the welfare of all Georgians. Our endowment provides funds for faculty to collaborate with educators of public schools that serve a high percentage of minority and low socio-economic students by providing a project-based education and a community to support them.”
