The University of Georgia campus has come back to life after the summer lull with the start of a new school year. UGA photographers and videographers spread out around campus to document the Freshman Welcome in Sanford Stadium on Tuesday evening and the first day of classes on Wednesday.
More than 5,500 outstanding students in the Class of 2023 began their classes Wednesday. They bring an average weighted high school GPA above 4.0 and a record average of nine Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses. Their average SAT score is 1359 while the average ACT score of the incoming class is a record 31. Read more about the stellar students now calling UGA home.
