The State Botanical Garden of Georgia to host family event celebrating Africa

Athens, Ga. – The State Botanical Garden of Georgia will host Family Day: Celebrating Africa! Nov. 3 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Visitor’s Center/Conservatory, which is located at 2450 South Milledge Avenue in Athens. The event is part of the 25th anniversary celebration of African studies programming at the University of Georgia.

At the family-friendly event, visitors will explore African culture, plants, cuisine and art through African dance demonstrations, music, storytelling and much more.

Family Day: Celebrating Africa! is cosponsored by the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia, UGA African Studies Institute and the Georgia Museum of Art. For more information, call 706/542-6156 or see botgarden.uga.edu.
